The State of the Union Address is scheduled for the day before this convening (Tuesday February 24th). As such, expect possible street closures and barricaded routes throughout the Capitol Hill complex. Transportation via Metro is highly recommended.

Street parking is extremely limited on the Capitol Hill complex. Transportation by Metro is highly recommended - Capitol South (Orange/Blue/Silver) or Union Station (Red Line); Rideshare drop-offs should go to Capitol Hill United Methodist Church (421 Seward Square SE, Washington, DC, 20003)

The procession will begin at Capitol Hill UMC with stops at the Supreme Court of The United States and the United States Capitol. Please prepare for a procession route of approximately 30 minutes total. Please check back for a full map of the procession route closer to the event date.

Clergy are invited to wear collars, stoles, or other clerical vestments

Please plan for the weather (umbrellas/ponchos, coats, scarves, water bottle, etc.)

During the procession, we will ask attendees to enable airplane mode on smart phones. Airplane mode ensures that your device will not be transmitting for the duration of your time at this event and prevents your location from being tracked. If you have a smartwatch or other IoT devices, disable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Please also be mindful when considering sharing or posting photos or videos of the procession to social media and ensure you have consent of anyone whose face is fully visible.
